The authors

Without the invaluable help of my friends: Fiorella Cerami , Federico Del Conte and Riccardo Tomassini.
Without the awareness that the repertoire must be – in our opinion – essentially a precise, punctual, synthetic and … possibly … clinical prompter.
Without a reflection that has proved enlightening: if it is possible to write a materia medica, as the result of one’s own original observations, it is equally possible to take the responsibility of informing one’s colleagues about the results of one’s experience.
Even in the repertory.
So we set to work in an attempt to complete SUGGESTA: a different work, not better, than the faithful and compiling editing of the excellent already existing repertoires.
We actually began this work: the repertory, by definition, cannot be completed.

Massimo Mangialavori
Massimo Mangialavori
I graduated in Medicine in 1984. An enduring interest in medical anthropology and traditional medicine led to a course of study in Homeopathic Medicine which I began to practice in 1985. After exploring various approaches that were not entirely satisfactory, I was able to study with great enthusiasm with Dr. Giovanni Marotta in Rome sharing our reflections. In the process, we became dear friends. This work led me to develop an approach called the Method of Complexity in Homeopathic Medicine.
In 1991, I began to give international seminars based on cured cases. Soon after, I began teaching at the Ulmas Association (1993-2014) followed by the Ianua Medica Amiata (2014-2018). Meanwhile, I also taught, beginning in 2000, at CIMI-Koinè International School of Permanent Training in Homeopathic Medicine. Abroad I have taught at the New England Homeopathic Academy (Boston) (1998-2020) and have given seminars in the U.S., England, Scotland, Spain, Germany, Scotland, England, Netherlands, Finland, Switzerland and Japan.
In Bologna and Boston, I taught two separate three-year postgraduate courses (2001-2009). I provided ongoing clinical supervision in Glasgow (2007-2009) and Boston (2011-2021). Collaborations have included F.I.A.M.O. (Italian Federation of Associations and Homeopathic Doctors); Delphi (1996); and Homeovision (2008).
In addition to numerous books on homeopathy, I authored a text on my approach entitled Praxis: A New Method in Homeopathic Medicine and more recently, Materia Medica Clinica, with four published volumes, each detailing a homeopathic family or group of remedies, with more planned for the future. In this work, I was assisted by Krista Heron, John Sobraske and Betty Wood.
In terms of software offerings, I collaborated with the late David Warkentin on ReferenceWorks and MacRepertory, later on a medical record and remedy database with Paolo Barbolini called Consulta (1990), and most recently, Suggesta (2020), a new repertory containing my additions, available on Opus (Zeus) and SHS (Synergy). This project was supported through the efforts of Fiorella Cerami, Federico Del Conte and Riccardo Tomassini.
Until 2014, my homeopathic practice was based in Modena. After moving to Castel del Piano on the slopes of Mount Amiata in 2015, I have divided my practice between Tuscany and Bologna..

After graduating with full marks in Medicine in Rome in 1982, I quickly realized that my dualist and reductionist university training, albeit accurate about the physiology of the human body, did not allow adequate answers regarding the complexity of human suffering encountered in clinical practice. An epochal turning point, in terms of my perplexity and dissatisfaction, occurred in 1986 when I encountered the Organon of the Art of Healing and the biography of its author, Samuel Hahnemann. These readings prompted me to find out more, and I enrolled that year in the three-year training course in Classical Homeopathic Medicine of the L.U.I.M.O. (Free International University of Homeopathic Medicine) in Rome. I continued my training by taking courses and seminars from various Italian and foreign homeopathic teachers. A few years later, I attended the International School of Permanent Training in Homeopathic Medicine Koinè where I learned from Dr. Mangialavori about his Method of Complexity in Homeopathic Medicine. In the 1990s I was one of the first users of the homeopathic computer repertory, Radar. From 2016 to 2019, I completed several courses on Homeopathic Medicine at the Faculty of Pharmacy UniRoma1. With others, I published Integration of Knowledge in Medicine edited by Alberto Panza. (Cafoscarina Publishing Library, 2013) To deepen my knowledge of the human psyche and the psychological aspects of the therapeutic relationship, I completed a 4-year clinical training (2014-2018) at the Psychoanalytic Training and Research Institute, associated with and formerly directed by Armando Ferrari. I am currently a full member of this institute. I practice as a homeopathic doctor at my office in Rome.
